IT'S OFFICIALLY SUMMER!!
Scott's team (the Rangers) went to states and won 4th place! We are so proud of the team and the accomplishments they've had this season. It's been another successful season. They have a couple more games to play including the 5th annual Lance Gearing "Lanceapalooza" game in two weeks.

Milestones.
For Easter my family and my cousins spent the weekend in Hershey, PA. Home of the Hershey chocolate world. (even though some of us don't like chocolate) Scott and the family came to watch Amanda's last game being in the new-stars game.
Amanda got two assist during the game and was nominated for D1 Sportswoman of the Year.
BUT!
That's not the main reason for this post. So the title of this post is Milestones and here's one we can put in the book (when we write one).
My mom told me a story about before my cousins and I got to the rink. My dad, mom and Scott were out to lunch and my dad asked the waitress her name and then my dad said "This is Scott." Right after my dad said that Scott says, "Emily (I think that was her name) this is my mom."
Scott has never introduced one of us to another person. I'm so proud of him for introducing his momma to someone else. This is a HUGE Milestone for my baby brother!
Also, Softball is starting and I think that's Scott's favorite sport that he plays (besides Hockey of course). He loves hitting the ball over the fence and catching the ball. Well if you know Scott you know that he has more shoes than a girl. (You think we're kidding but we're not) Have you ever tried to find size 15 shoes? (Yes you read that right 15!) It's not that easy especially when Scott is picky about his shoes. One of the requirements is they have to be the color Red. (probably why he roots for the capitals.) Today Scott got his new Softball cleats & yes they are Red!
Here they are!
So WE HAVE A SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO OUR BABY SISTER, LAURA WHO IS TURNING ANOTHER YEAR OLDER TOMORROW!
I wish I could be there to celebrate at IHOP but I'll be home in two weeks to celebrate.
If you see this weirdo tell her happy birthday & give her a birthday punch for me. (just kidding don't do that. we don't condone violence :)

ASHA Hockey Camp & Battle of the Golden Helmet.
This past week has been crazy (in a great way) Scott, Coach Randy & I headed up to Maryland to go to the ASHA (American Special Hockey Association) Southeast District camp. We rode up to camp with Bowen, David, Steven & Brandon. Let me tell you it was a fun car ride.
While at camp we were on the ice a little over two hours a day. Then lunch and down time at the rink they melt down to make into a roller rink for the summer camps. This week we learned a lot about each other. A lot of the kids who never really talked before were talking up a storm and it was great to hear what they had to say.
Coach Randy made the kids work hard and all of them were tired after each day. This picture will probably tell you how much we tired them out. On Day 4: 4 kids are down for the count & let me tell you I was right there with them.

I didn't want to leave these kids. Today felt so weird not waking up early & putting on my skates to be on the ice with them. I can't wait to see all these kids again at christmas time for the tournament. I probably won't recognize any of them they will be so fast or talkative. This week made me realize that this is what I want to do with my life. I love these guys like they are my brothers and sisters & I wouldn't change it for the world. I really don't know what I would be doing with my life if I have never met every. I <3 you all.
In the next post I'll post some more pictures of the week and some videos we took. Yes, the one of me singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider & of the one the kids are pushing coach Randy in Wesley's chair.
After that whole week of camp we had one last thing. The battle of the Golden Helmet. Scott's team the Rangers Won. Scott did amazing he had a triple and two doubles. He almost hit over the fence twice. It was a great game to watch by all of his teammates. Then after that we had a picnic with Scott's favorite. Hamburgers and Hot dogs. He also met a new friend who he took pictures with.
Fewwwww. I think it's bed time now. Another Sunday of Hockey for the Cool Cats. (:
Peace & Love,
Amanda & Scott.

Special Olympics States.
Over the weekend Scott and Coach Randy went down to Richmond to attend the State games for Softball. On Friday they lost both of there games, but that's okay. They played early on Saturday the game that they needed to win & they did. They won the game and got into the gold medal game. Which they won!! Scott came home with a gold medal. Congrats to Scott's team and all the Loudoun County Athletes who placed. Way to go.
There is one more softball game to go. Which I hope to attend because I haven't been to able to get to a game yet.
On Monday, Scott, Laura and Coach Randy got up at 6 am to meet my grandpa & my cousin to swap cars. While they were in Breezewood they stopped to eat with them and then came straight home. Scott loved eating there with everyone.
More to come soon.

I'm already packed & almost on my way home. No matter what time my dad & I get home I will be going to be going to my first softball game of the season. Just to watch my "little" brother hit it out of the park. like he normally does.
I just tried to call Scott to see what he is up to, but as always he never answers his red phone.
I think for him it's going to be weird having me home for the summer. There's gonna be 5 people in the car on the way to practice not four like it is when im away at school.
This semester has been crazy. I did my first high-incidence project about Autism and Scott. I got to learn a lot about Autism that I didn't already know like who was the first person diagnosed. If you want to read it let me know. My grandma & grandpa have been showing everyone& they want to get it published.
Last but not least. WE WENT TO LONDON!!! Scott loves flying. London was a first for a lot of things:

- flying in a plane.
- riding in a taxi.
- riding a double decker bus.
- playing hockey overseas.
It was great getting to see everyone at the tournament. We made a lot of new friends who we miss & hope to see next tournament. My family & I had a great time in London seeing everything. I wish we could go back again.

Softball
Today was Scott's last official softball game. (picture coming soon) even though they still practice until August where they will be going to Chicago, IL for the NIT tournament. (:
The battle of the golden helmet.
My grandma kept asking what he got for winning it. His team (The Rangers.) won the golden helmet and the other team from Loudoun County also won it too(:
Congratulations to both the Rangers & Cardinals.
You would think that Scott would be tired out from all the softball this morning but him & Coach Randy are (I think) at the batting cages & getting our car a new battery & oil, because today the battery had its moment again & thanks to Mrs. Knight we got it to jump start and home.
The car still has it's bumpy moments and I really don't want to ride in the car until it gets fixed. You can see how lower it is than what it should be.
We finally have Cool Cats tomorrow and for each team we have an hour practice for both of them. I'm excited. Are you?
Peace & Love,
Amanda & Scott

Summer 2011
Softball Season:
This season Scott is on the Rangers & the All-Star team which will be going to Chicago,IL at the end of August. Scott's favorite thing about softball is getting to hit the balls over the other players so they have no way to get it. He also catches the balls and runs to the bases. Scott loves to cheer on his teammates by saying You can do it. In the outfield he runs to catch the balls so the other team doesn't score.
Johnstown,PA:
While we were in PA I thought it was nice, cool & sometimes cold. On the other hand Scott thought it was hot and it was just right for him. We really liked spending the week up there and seeing all of the family. Scott played lots of games with our cousins Evan and Luke. In that week it was Evan's birthday and for his birthday we always play a friendly game of Kickball. When we were playing this game Scott broke his car when he tried to slide to one of the bases, but when mom came they went to Wal-Mart and got Scott 3 new ones. One of Scott's favorite moments was when we went with our cousins to play Galaxy golf. (which was inside the mall & was like glow in the dark golf) Scott, Laura & I got to spend a night at Evan & Luke's house were we watched some movies, played wii and played with there dog Maggie (which surprisingly Scott wasn't afraid of.)
On 4th of July we went with Evan & Luke to Amber's house to set off fireworks and play some hockey with Alan. Lorrie made this really awesome dip that was kind of too hot for Scott so he made his ewww face & it was pretty funny. Scott wore out Amber & Alan's dog Max when him & Alan were playing hockey.
Hockey:
Hockey? In summer? I guess hockey is never really over in our house. The saying "Is it October Yet?" Doesn't really apply to my family. We are gearing up for hockey camp at the end of August. The B team is doing a lot of shooting drills, passing drills, skating around & more. My dad got new sticks & circle things for the kids to pass with & more stuff came today..... but I can't tell you what they are you will just have to find out at practice.(:
The C team is doing a lot with the sticks & circles too and the tires. That I know everyone loves. Both teams are really surprising me on what they are learning.
This coming week we are going to Virginia Beach (one of Scott's favorite place: The Beach) & knowning him we will be in the Water no matter how cold it is, but for right now we are going to watch the end of the Pirates game. So LET'S GO BUCCOS!!(:
peace & love,
Amanda & Scott.
